Mónica was born in Madrid in 1992. In 2015, work brought her to East Asia, where she has since lived in China and South Korea. Since 2024, she has been based in Osaka, Japan.

Although teaching has been the center of her professional life, photography has long been a personal passion. During the coronavirus period, she found refuge in the natural landscapes of Ulsan through the lens of her camera, deepening her connection to photography. After moving to Japan, she joined the Naniwa Photography Club and the Ashiya Photo Association.

She is particularly interested in street photography and black-and-white imagery, enjoying the act of noticing small details in everyday life and capturing moments and scenes that often go unseen. Photography also serves as an important tool in her writing of poetry, travel journals, and short fiction.

She also enjoys participating in portrait sessions, especially in kimono, and has an interest in creative cultural projects.
